This six-lecture series will concentrate on feature-length movies, with one session on unique short films in their entirety. We will watch the whole film, take a short break, and then discuss various aspects of the film. Of particular interest will be the social context of the films, their genres and style, and more exploration of the language of cinema. The films will be announced only immediately before their screening for a variety of reasons, mostly due to scheduling challenges and reaction to each film shown. As before, the only requisite for the course is a love of films.
